Read on to learn quick and easy ways to speed up your WordPress website. We’ll show you how.
Today we’re sharing how to get started with local SEO. Local SEO can help your website show up in local search results. With more than half of today’s searches performed on a mobile device, it’s important you show up when searchers are looking local.
When your business listing shows up in search results, for a relevant or related keyword, it could result in a visit to your business, a lead, a review, or more. With that, let’s talk about some actions you can take to improve your local search visibility:
Claim your business local listings
Claiming your business listing with major search engines like Google and Bing is key. Doing so enables you to manage information about your business.
Tip: Make sure your NAP (Name, address, phone number) information is consistent across your local listings. This consistency builds trust with search engines and users alike.
Use structured data
Using structured data can help separate your business from your competition in search. Using the LocalBusiness Schema markup allows search engines to better understand your business, giving you a chance to rank higher in local results, and allowing searchers to interact with your business directly from the search results.

Tip: If you’re using WordPress, some plugins may help you with implementing structured data. For example, Yoast offers the Local SEO for WordPress plugin, a tool that helps you implement structured data as well as a UI element on your webpage.
Respond to reviews
Responding to reviews shows readers you’re engaged. Responding accordingly, whether the review is positive or negative, is key. Because you take the time to listen and respond, you might even get more reviews or encourage others to visit your store over a competitor who doesn’t interact with reviewers.
